There has clearly been a change in cleaning techs or something. This dry cleaner used to provide excellent service! My clothes were always expertly cleaned. When I recently picked up my clothes the majority of the garments were still dirty, just pressed. I requested a "re-do" for the pieces I didn't need immediately. After picking up the "re-do" batch I discovered a hot pink perfectly formed circle of ink, stamped on my white shorts! I have left them a voicemail and I will post another review after we resolve this.
First and last time ever using STAR Cleaners in Union KY. I dropped my six shirts off there Monday around lunch, Jane informed me anything dropped off M-Th is done and ready to be picked up after three the following day.. awesome I think to myself. I stop in on Tuesday around 430 and walk in where one of the individuals working looks at me and said are you here for pick up? Yes I am I stated and she said I don’t think they were even picked up because we had a van pick up issue.. I wasn’t happy about this but there was other customers in the store so I felt I should leave and call to request a manager. I leave and call them immediately to request to speak with a a manager, Jane proceeded to get rude with me and actually hangs up on me. I called back and speak with Colleen who is really defensive with me stating she didn’t get there until 3 and that she couldn’t have called me, I requested that she have a manager call me and she said she will pass my information over to Debbie. So Wednesday comes and nothing up until 12, so I called and them to see if “Debbie” was in.. the lady stated that she wasnt but she is aware that she needs to give me a call. At 1:34 Debbie leaves me a voicemail saying she will be leaving soon but that I can call her back. I call back at 2:15ish and proceed to ask “Debbie” what happened and why didn’t anyone contact me to let me know there was an issue? “Debbie” stated it would be impossible to call 200 hundred people to let them know about the mishap and that unfortunately things happen.. I informed her that her customer service was a joke and she lost it.. she said and I quote “you can pick your clothes up outside on the street!” And “you are not allowed to pick your clothes up unless she was present!” I informed her I would be there after 4 when I get off work to pick them up and that you can wait on me! Never an apology only excuses for their service.
Star Cleaners came to the rescue when I needed to have my dress dry cleaned in 1 day for my father's funeral...my friend had shipped it to me from St. Louis and I knew it should be dry cleaned before wearing again so my mom took a chance and called them....the lady was so kind and reviewed how the timing may work out since this was Saturday afternoon and I needed it by Monday afternoon...beyond her offer to drop it by our house in the subdivision behind the shop-to help us with all that we had to do before the funeral, she also did not charge me for the cleaning- a very kind and compassionate gesture. My black dress (clean without the white deodorant marks) was cleaned in time and looked great!
I agree something has changed with Star. Lost item was supposed to prompt a phone call. Asked twice, no phone call. Also signed up for drop and go twice, lost forms on Star's end. Finally found out my item was found, no call to let me know. I also agree that things seem to be pressed and not cleaned? Not as crisp as clothes used to be returned.
To those in other reviews who had an item damaged, deal with it...worse things could happen in life!!! I have dry cleaned most of my clothes, including sweaters, over the last 25 years at probably 5 different cleaners...you know what, one lost my scarf attached to a suit coat (made the suit), buttons tarnished on another suit, and two have used too much heat on a suit right before I had to travel for work or had an important meeting--this I found can be corrected with re-cleaning. You know what, I survived and had no issue going shopping again for new, stylish clothes...sometimes, things happen. :)
As promised, here is my update. Today I received a call from the manager, Debbie! She expressed genuine concern and delivered professional customer service. I understand that things can happen. So honest acknowledgement and reasonable explanations are much appreciated! She even assisted me with the claims form. Kudos to you Debbie and thank you for a job well done
